Thank you for this post, Mark! It was pretty awesome to meet you, too. And it’s great that everybody’s writing up their experiences. I prefer the ones that include a lot of impressions about how it felt to be there, because I’m fascinated by the spectrum of emotions it stirred in everyone. So thanks in particular for being brave enough to share that aspect with us.

I remember writing a BOOK REPORT on the first couple of books in GRADE 6, in which I said exactly the same thing. It boggles the mind that anybody has still been reading these things for the past 15 years.

Jota: You’ll have to come down and visit next time we go to the Museum of Science in Boston/Cambridge. There’s a great display there showing the relative sizes of the planets.

Next they can place Monaco next to Russia and explain why it’s been demoted to “dwarf country”.

(Although, honestly, I hadn’t realized that the planets were as big as that relative to the sun.)

You can also do this by just holding down the “0″ key. After a second a menu will pop up which lets you choose the “º” symbol.
